Course meets requirements for concealed carry license

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office invites the public to register now for the next Civilian Gun Safety Course. The class is on Mar. 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an hour for lunch. The class will be held at the CCSO training building, 25500 Airport Road in Punta Gorda.

According to Sgt. Greg Kalosis, “If you have your own firearm, you’ll need to bring it along with 50 rounds of ammunition -no reloads. Completion of this handgun safety course can meet one of the requirements for a Concealed Weapons Permit.” Hearing and eye protection will be provided and class space is limited.

Cost of the course is $35 by check or money order, payable to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. For further information about the gun safety course, please call Sgt. Kalosis at 941-575-5367. Registration is limited and all participants must be pre-registered.

Lee’s note: This course has a great reputation, and fills up quick.
