Florida gun owners under scrutiny

Ever since you-know-who’s trial in Sanford, Florida gun owners have been under intense scrutiny.

Any issue involving a firearm – even the most minor – will be seen by a national or even international audience as long as there’s a Florida link.

— A private seller in Pensacola willing to trade his AR-15 for a jet ski was lampooned by Businessweek.

— A woman armed with a BB-gun in Broward County, who was shot and killed by deputies, was mentioned by the San Francisco Chronicle.gun owner

— A marcher in St. Pete’s gay pride parade, who was shot by a BB fired by some nut spouting gay slurs, was chronicled by London’s Gay Star News.

— Or you-know-who getting stopped in Texas – in Texas – with a pistol in his truck,  became an event covered by nearly every media outlet in the world.

Florida gun owners are being defined without their consent, and it’s not a pleasant definition.

We’re portrayed as well-tanned hicks with “assault weapons” – objects of curiosity to be ridiculed, shamed and boycotted, lest they catch our gun-luvin cooties or become injured by the bullets constantly falling out of our pockets.

Frankly, I think it’s bullshit.

It’s time for the detractors to move along.

There’s nothing to see here anymore.

We’ve got millions and millions of responsible gun owners who are nothing but boring because of  their safe gun handling.

They’ve never harmed anyone and likely never will.

Besides, you-know-who has left the state.

Word is, he lives a bit west of here now.

Go mess with Texas.

  1. Floridians should ignore all the naysayers. The rabid gun control freaks are just trying to bring down anyone who doesn’t invest in their nonsense.

Illinois has strict gun control and look at their crime rate, 15% higher than the national average. Disarming their public seems to be working well for them. I try not to drive through Illinois, that place is dangerous.

I do try to spend a few weeks in Florida every year. Nice place with nice people.

  2. has already deiend more than 150,000 veterans their right to bear arms. Read more here:a0 Look.a0 I’m old enough to remember that back in the bad ole days of the Soviet Union, if you
