Engaging 1,000 yard targets today

TP Case

I am heading to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office range near Lithia this morning, along with my friend Mike Lang, the H-T’s photo director.

We are going to test-fire the Tracking Point, Precision Guided Firearm, which retails for around $27,000.

They claim the weapon system enables even a novice shooter to hit targets at 1,000 yards.

The electronic networked scope – the heart of the weapon system – is also a WiFi hotspot, so we’ll be able to download what we see through the scope onto our smart phones.

Look for stories, photos and lashings of video soon.

In the meantime, here’s a promotional video from Tracking Point.
