The Gun Writer’s print column starts tomorrow

It’s time to say thanks again.

It’s been one year since we first launched The Gun Writer.

During that year, there have been 380 stories, more than 700 Tweets and more than 1,000 posts on Facebook – all about guns.

The site continues to be one of my newspaper’s most popular blogs, because you made it a success.

I can’t thank you all enough, especially those who have contributed stories, ideas, photos, links, advice and, most importantly, loyal readership.  You’re the smartest, the most politically astute and the most passionate readers anyone could ever hope to write for.

You’ve accepted my not-so-subtle AK fixation, my passion for all things tactical, and my rudimentary knowledge of some of the more mainstream shooting sports.

Because of your support, I’ve been given a print column, which will run every Wednesday in our sports section.

Those of you familiar with how a newspaper operates understand what this means.

We’ve got a few more things planned to celebrate our one-year anniversary, which we’ll reveal once they’re confirmed.

In the meantime, please enjoy the weekly columns. The the daily blogging, Tweets and Facebook posts will continue unabated.

As always, if you would like to contribute a story, offer a tip or ask a question, please call my cell at (941) 284-8553 or send me an email.

It’s really been an honor to write for all of you.

Thanks again.

About Author

Lee Williams can’t remember a time in his life when he wasn’t shooting. Before becoming a journalist, Lee served in the Army and worked as a police officer. He’s earned more than a dozen journalism awards as a reporter, and three medals of valor as a cop. He is an NRA-certified law enforcement firearms instructor, an avid tactical shooter and a training junkie. When he’s not busy as a senior investigative reporter, he is usually shooting his AKs, XDs and CZs. If you don’t run into him at a local gun range, you can reach him at 941.284.8553, by email, or by regular mail to 1777 Main St., Sarasota, FL 34236. You can follow him on Twitter: @HT_GunWriter and on Facebook @The Gun Writer.
