Can modern flexible body armor stop a knife attack?

Or a tomahawk?

Or a sword?

Well, if it’s made by Safeguard Armor it can.

The guys at Safeguard Armor mailed one of their Stealth model vests for some torture.

They’d seen the previous vest tests we’ve conducted using firearms and sent it anyway.

A lot of readers have sent questions about the reliability of inexpensive body armor that’s flooded the market recently.

Rather than blowing their vest full of holes like the previous tests, we tried something else – to penetrate it with a selection of edged weapons.

Most modern body armor will offer some protection against knives, but the Safeguard vest stopped them all, with minimal damage to the Kevlar.

In addition to stopping everything we could stab or slash it with, the vest has great features, like a Coolmax carrier – just what’s needed in the hot Florida sun. It’s also comfortable and very light.

It retails for $371, which is very inexpensive for the protection it offers.

Maybe we’ll try their helmet next?
