Sure, who doesn’t like looking at new firearms and new products? Still, it’s always better when you actually get to try them out.
That’s the theory behind “Industry Day,” which is also known as “Media Day” — a long tradition at SHOT Show.
It’s a chance for buyers and manufacturers to meet and mingle. And it’s a chance for 1,200 or so members of the sporting press and gun media to get their hands of the latest and coolest guns and gear.
Monday’s Industry Day was fantastic, and it exceeded my expectations.
I was blown away.
In total, there were more than 170 manufacturers, sprawled across the massive Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club.
Every single manufacturers representative whom I encountered couldn’t have been more helpful. They’re a kind and generous bunch.
We will have eight individual stories and videos coming about new guns and gear from Glock, Walther, Triumph Systems Cobalt Kinetics, Rock Island, Kriss, Caracal and of course Hudson Manufacturing — maker of the H9.
All of them will be posted here as well as on my Facebook page.
A final word about the H9 — I’ve never shot anything like it. It’s a striker-fired 9mm that shoots like a 1911. The trigger is incredible, as are the ergonomics. Based on the reaction of other shooters, the H9 will be the “it” gun of SHOT Show 2017.
