SHOT Show 2017 Industry Day: The Caracal is Back (w/Video)

I shot the new Caracal.

It’s a fun gun to run.

We all know about the problems — legions of problems — the firm has had, which included a complete recall, a website that vanished and beaucoup pissed-off customers.

Well, they’re back.

Soon, they’ll be made entirely in the United States.

What’s striking about their 9mm Caracal Enhanced F is its sights, which Caracal calls its “Quick-Sight System.”

The rear sight is forged into the slide and mounted ahead of the ejection port!

Caracal GM Jeffrey Spaulding said the shorter sight radius creates one focal plane, rather than two, which is quicker.

To their credit, when you push out it does come up on target very quickly.

Time will tell whether their slides and frames hold up.

I hope they do. They’re one of the most ergonomic pistols out there.

The F has an MSRP of $599.
