The Barrel-Tree Lighting Party at Siesta Key Rum (w/Photos)

For me, one of the best things about the Christmas Season is donning my “Rum Writer” hat for the occasional run-fueled holiday tradition.

Siesta Key Rum established just such a tradition not long ago — the Barrel-Tree Lighting Party.

Troy Roberts, Siesta Key Rum founder, CEO and Master Distiller, came up with the idea. It quickly caught on. Troy has won more national awards for his rums than he can count — all deserved. His Distiller’s Reserve is the best rum I have ever had.

I wasn’t able to attend the barrel lighting this year, but our intrepid design editor Jennifer Borresen was, and she took some fantastic photos. Thanks, Jen!

Enjoy, everybody!
