Activists to gather for Second Amendment rally in Sarasota

SARASOTA, Fla. –  Rally For Our Rights Manasota and other volunteer citizens from the local gun community will be gathering for a pro-Second Amendment demonstration and march on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bayfront Park in Sarasota.

According to the Rally For Our Rights Manasota website, the event is described as a “peaceful, positive, patriotic exercise of our First Amendment right to defend our Second Amendment right.”

Special guests include Senator Greg Steube, George Buck, Bruce Nathan, Christian Ziegler, James Satcher, Martin Hyde, Florida Carry’s Kevin Sona, and guest emcee Captain Matt Bruce of The Captain’s America Radio Show.

Additionally, the Vietnam Brotherhood of Sarasota will serve as the Color Guard, local singer Tawnya Miller will perform the National Anthem and Gold Star Father Kris Hager will be giving the invocation for the event.

“We are looking forward to bringing patriots together to support our Second Amendment for the second time this year,” said Jeff Young, one of the volunteer organizers at Rally For Our Rights Manasota. “This will be another peaceful display of citizens coming together to support our unabridged, constitutional rights like the Second Amendment.”

Organizers are asking attendees to bring American and Gadsden flags, pro-Second Amendment apparel, and signs. Free small flags will be available to children while supplies last.

Facilitators of the rally are also asking that those in attendance leave open-carry weapons and signs with inappropriate language at home.

The rally will start near the Unconditional Surrender (Kissing) statue in Sarasota’s Bayfront Park at 10 a.m.

An optional march across the Ringling Bridge is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. The roundtrip walk is approximately two miles and will not feature a police escort, so demonstrators must follow traffic laws.

Patrons may RSVP themselves and up to nine friends. Additionally, participants are reminded that no special parking privileges are granted for demonstrations and guests should park accordingly.

Those interested in attending or wanting additional information are encouraged to sign up through Rally For Our Rights Manasota website at www.RallyForOurRightsManasota. com or register through their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/rallyforourri ghtsmanasota.
