Schooling a TV news actor on the Second Amendment (w/Video)

Those of you who follow this site regularly know I appear weekly on SNN-TV — an independent 24-hour news station in Sarasota.

The two to three minute segments are usually hosted by morning anchor Kathy Leon.

Kathy is great. She gets it. She’s bright, intelligent, funny and we mesh very well.

Well, Kathy was sick today so her morning co-anchor Don Brennan hosted the segment.

Don definitely ain’t Kathy.

I presented my story for the day — a bit about Guns & Ammo magazines recent ranking of the most gun-friendly states — and then things went off the rails.

Don said the government should “license” gun owners so we’d all be more “responsible.”

Yep, that.

I disagreed.

Enjoy the video.

I certainly had fun making it.

  2. So does Don Brennan have a Freedom of Speech License?
Maybe he should, and all other “journalists” to keep them from biased and fake news reporting.

  3. Michael R Perron on

If the government turns a right into a privilege via license or fee, the citizen can ignore said license or fee with impunity. USSC shuttles worth vs city of Birmingham AL

  4. I laugh every time someone says driving is not a right.

It’s like the term assault weapon.

New definition calls is a select fire weapon that uses an intermediate cartridge

Scary black weapon with that thingy that goes up.

    Driving is the same

Driving is a commercial activity that is regulated.

Operating your private conveyance for pleasure is not.

What happened is we let the legislature remove our public property and tresspass us.

It’s like hiring a babysitter and she changed the locks and charges us rent.

    • Umm yes operating your vehicle for pleasure is regulated. Speed limits, insurance, stop signs, vehicle inspections ,license required by you and for the vehicle. Pretty much all pleasure vehicles,boats,planes,4 wheelers etc are regulated.

  5. Jonathan R King on

When any politition takes the oath of office, he /she pledges to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against ALL enemies, foreign and domestic. Therefore, when he takes the position and seeks to subvert the Constitution, he should be treated as a domestic enemy, one working from within.

    • Jonathan, actually they do take an oath or pledge to uphold the Constitution for the USA. They may take a pledge/ make an oath to a Constitution, but it’s NOT what our founding fathers wrote! Rather, it’s one of the constitutions of either the US, Inc, or the USA, Inc. neither of which are of “We the People”! This has been documented in the federal archives as FACT but, of course, the people are not aware of this as well as so many more acts of FRAUD that it’s simply difficult to get your head wrapped around!

  6. Actually, Williams is wrong regarding the “driving issue” not being a constitutional right. First and foremost, NO ONE DERIVES ANY RIGHTS, WHATSOEVER, from the Constitution… PERIOD! That document sets forth the restrictions placed on government. People derive their rights from their Creator and/or are Natural, unalienable rights. Even without the Constitution, people would retain all rights, including those of which the government has eroded! The right to travel is one of the unalienable rights all people have. The government has attempted to brainwash people into believing that a license is required to use a car on the public roads. This is patently FALSE! The criminal government, always looking for another means to control us and erode our freedom, made-up the fiction of the driver’s license as another incremental step in achieving total control. The vehicle codes in the franchised federal states, adopted a commercial code that requires ONLY THOSE ENGAGED IN COMMERCE to be licensed! They use semantic deceit by warping the definitions of “driver”, “driving”, “passenger”, etc. so the people will assume these various words retained their everyday, common usage but, they have completely different definitions when reviewed in the various motor vehicle codes! This is just a very small snippet of the HUGE FRAUD the US government and it’s “state of state” franchises have done, by deceit, obfuscation, and non-disclosure, to gain jurisdiction/control over people, otherwise beyond their grasp!

  7. Driving is not a right, there is no inherit right to driving a car. Driving is privilege licensed by the state. Owning a gun is right. Its the right of self defense which existed before the Constitution was written. The 2nd amendment is there to inform the government that it has not authority to abridge the right to keep (own) or bare (carry) arms. Not guns, not firearms but arms, which is military term meaning weapons of war.

“A system of licensing and registration is the perfect device to deny gun ownership to the bourgeoisie.”
    – Vladimir Ilyich Lenin

“When you disarm the people, you commence to offend them and show that you distrust them either through cowardice or lack of confidence, and both of these opinions generate hatred.”
    – Niccolo Machiavelli
